THE STORY BEHIND
NATIONAL HOCKEY NOW

National Hockey Now

In 2016, Dan Kingerski started Pittsburgh Hockey Now. The site was born from an idea: provide professional, credentialed, in-depth coverage of the Pittsburgh Penguins from a completely unbiased, uncompromising angle. Readers took to the idea and PHN quickly became the most read Penguins site in the world. Three years later, that same idea spread to Boston and Colorado with two new sites, Boston Hockey Now and Colorado Hockey Now, covering the Bruins and Avalanche. Soon after it was official.

In 2022 NHN expanded into the world of football and baseball with the acquisitions of a Steelers and Pirates site, Steelers Now and Pittsburgh Baseball Now respectively and in 2023 a second football, Patriots Football Now joined the fold.

The National Hockey Now network has now spread to cities across North America and boasts a readership of millions along with thousands of subscribers.

Our goal is simple, provide the most in-depth, local coverage, on a national level.

Today the network is looking add new sites to bolster our hockey and football coverage as well as exploring new opportunities for expansion to additional sports in our current cities.

We own and operate 19 active websites dedicated to covering individual NHL teams, two sites covering NFL teams and one site covering the Pittsburgh Pirates of Major League Baseball. Our sites are staffed by professional, credentialed journalists and writers with years of experience and dozens of awards.

Our network boasts traffic of over 6,000,000 page views every month and millions of unique visitors.

We maintain dozens of Facebook, Twitter and Flipboard accounts with hundreds of thousands of followers and subscribers as well as multiple YouTube accounts with tens of thousands of subscribers of their own.

We have thousands of e-mail subscribers to our individual sites and our NHN+ premium service has over 3,500 paying subscribers.

In an era where sports journalism is dominated by clickbait, AI and constant turnover, we are different.

We are a network on the rise.

Local coverage on a national level.

That’s National Hockey Now.
